THE FORMAT

A compact band, an orchestra sound

To keep things simple, Symphonie Blues performs as a four-piece, with an electronic drum kit to keep all the energy of a big orchestra.

Depending on what you’d like and the size of your event, we can bring in 1, 2, 3 or 4 extra musicians.

Based between Annecy and Geneva, we love sharing these happy moments in other regions of France — with a special fondness for the South — and we’re open to performing abroad.

WHY SYMPHONIE BLUES?

A story of friendship, music and memory.

  1. The 60s

    The beginning

Symphonie Blues was born in the 1960s, when we were 12 years old. The band toured the whole Rhône-Alpes-Auvergne region, growing from 5 musicians to a 14-piece line-up of musicians, singers and backing vocalists, known for getting thousands of people dancing and singing.

  2. 15 November 1970

    A tragic accident

After nine years together, we were all 20: in the prime of life, full of ambition and the joy of sharing special moments. On 15 November 1970, our vehicle crashed under a truck. Of the seven band members at the time, five lost their lives.

  3. Version 2

    In memory of our friends

We then relaunched Symphonie Blues as “version 2”, an orchestra with many musicians, in memory of the friends we had lost. The adventure lasted another three or four years.

  4. 40 years

    Separate ways

Work took us in different directions for nearly 40 years. Each of us kept making music all the same, to keep the thread alive.

  5. Today

    Symphonie Blues Story

About a year ago, we came back together with one wish: to bring the 60s, 70s and 80s back to life. The two remaining members of the 1970 band, joined by new partners in crime, formed a smaller orchestra that is just as good at sharing the emotion. Rehearsals are picking up pace so we can see you on stage.

Bringing Symphonie Blues Story back to life means never forgetting our friends Jean-Paul, Jean-Roger, Jean-Louis, Armand and James, with whom we shared happiness, joy, emotion and a true bond as musicians.

“We play for everyone who comes to see us. Every note is a thought for our friends.”

At our musical evenings and shows, every song is chosen for the audience: to share those defining moments of a lifetime, and give everyone a moment of joy and happiness.

Respect for our band, for the other fine bands in our region, and above all for the people who come to share these special moments with us.

Thank you, friends!

We thank our fellow musicians from the Rhône-Alpes region, and especially from Haute-Savoie:

… and all the others who have played so many great nights.
